Coastal Trail - Terra Nova National Park, Parks Canada
Terra Nova National Park of Canada
The most popular trail in the park. This trail snakes along the inner reaches of Newman Sound creating a great coastal hiking experience. Follow the shoreline and explore the intertidal zone, meander through the forest and discover Pissamere Falls. The trail provides great viewing access to a Canadian Wildlife Bird Sanctuary - watch for shore birds, bald eagles, ospreys, terns, greater yellow legs and spotted sandpipers. A 9.5 km return, 3- to 4-hour hike, considered easy to moderate in places.
