Outport Trail - Terra Nova National Park, Parks Canada

Hike the south side of Newman Sound to outer coastal locations of the park. Travel through the remnants of a pine forest, climb Mount Stamford and visit Minchin Cove - an old saw milling settlement. Camp at one of our designated primitive camping sites or arrange for a boat taxi with Happy Adventure Tours, located at the Visitor Centre. Backcountry camping permits are available at the Visitor Centre and Newman Sound Kiosk. This is a 35 km return, multi-day hike and is considered difficult.
