Every place has a story.
This one's ours.

In the wake of 9/11, 38 planes with 7,000 passengers were redirected to Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador. Out of the kindness of their hearts, the residents of Gander and surrounding communities opened their homes to host this group of stranded strangers.

Since its stage debut in 2015, the Tony–award winning musical Come From Away has invited audiences around the world to experience this remarkable story. In July 2023, a new production of the show came home to Gander, the place where it all began. With book, music, and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and produced by originating producer Michael Rubinoff, this fully staged production will be directed by Newfoundland and Labrador’s own Jillian Keiley.

A group of nine people stands on stage, each near a small white cube. The background features a wall with various square and rectangular patterns in blue tones. The scene is illuminated by stage lights, creating a dramatic atmosphere.
