Trout River Pond Trail - Gros Morne National Park, Parks Canada

Trout River

Jan 1 - Dec 31

This moderate, 14-km trail skirts the north side of Trout River Pond through shaded boreal forest, before vegetation dwindles to larch scrub and serpentine barrens. This pristine part of the Tablelands hosts arctic-alpine plants in the midst of patterned ground, erosion fans, and calcium springs. The trail provides magnificent views of the "Narrows" where two ponds meet, and of the glacial-carved valley of Trout River Inner Pond. Plan for 4-5 hours.
