Rev. Dr. John Clinch National Historic Site Plaque

This medical and missionary pioneer came to Newfoundland from England in 1775, later settling in Trinity around 1783, where he lived until his death at age 70. He administered the first smallpox vaccine in North America in 1800. His grave can be seen in the nearby St. Paul's Anglican Church cemetery. More information can be found on Rev.
