It is in our nature to reminisce. That’s why in welcoming a New Year, we like to pay ode to the previous one by collecting some of our favourite snapshots, as captured by you, to showcase all in one place. From breathtaking coastlines to a bustling capital city, we’ve seen it all through your lens. So put on the kettle, cozy up, and enjoy our top picks of 2024.

Dancing Skies

This past year, our province was a hotspot for seeing one of nature’s largest phenomenon’s - the northern lights. Ben Smith was one of many that ventured out to see the beautiful hues of green and blue from Port de Grave. Magical.

Birds Eye View

There’s no such thing as a bad view of an iceberg, but this aerial shot from our friend Steve Sheppard is pretty spectacular.

Nature's Best Duet

The world's largest population of humpback whales returns to our province each year and if you’re lucky enough, they might just put on a show. Charley Prince managed to get a front-row seat to this performance in Summerville, Bonavista Bay.

On Top of the World

It’s hard to sleep in when the sunrises are this beautiful! Alex Briere had an early rise to capture the moment the morning rays covered the fjord of Western Brook Pond.

The Best Cliff Hanger

With enough coastline to stretch across Canada four times over, you’re guaranteed to see some beautiful sights when visiting Newfoundland and Labrador. Check out this drone shot from Ocean Quest Adventures when exploring Bell Island.

Big Things on the Horizon

Brents Cove welcomed a new visitor this year, travelling thousands of miles through the Atlantic Ocean and settling into the cove for everyone to see. Ray Mackey captured the icebergs journey as it moved from Harbour Round to Brents Cove.

Polar Plunge

Dj Church spotted one of Newfoundland and Labrador's most iconic residents - the puffin, taking a dip in the ocean this summer at the Puffin Viewing Site in Elliston.

Cotton Candy Skies

The best place to end your day is where the sky meets the sea at Cape Ray. Check out this video of the sky bursting with colour taken by Tom Cochrane.

Serenity in the Sea

There’s nothing quite as peaceful as slowing down to breathe in the salt air. Diego Rebello perfectly captures the tranquility in this picture of one of Fogo Island's colourful sheds.
