Salvage Fisherman's Museum

Salvage

Located in the 300 year old fishing community of Salvage it is known locally as the Lane/Heffern House. The house was designated a Registered Heritage Structure in 2020 and is believed to have been built in the mid-19th century. The house is representative of a traditional Newfoundland saltbox dwelling. As a museum, it contains a collection of early fishing equipment, logging tools and domestic artifacts, reflecting the community's history and that of its residents. Admission is free.
