Blackhead One-Room School and Church Museum

Located in Blackhead village, near Cape Spear, is this beautifully restored one room school and church originally constructed in 1879. Our friendly guide will show you the school bell that the teacher would ring to summon the children to class. A wealth of family history is stored in the genealogy exhibit which also includes a self-guided walking tour. Hear about the former stone church and the archaeological dig that helped reveal its story. Relax on the bench in the yard.
