Boney Shore Trail

Red Bay

Jan 1 - Dec 31

This 1-km trail takes you back to a time when whalers would pull whales up on the beach and harvest the fat for rendering into oil. 16th century whale bones litter the shoreline and peek out from the sods and grass that have grown around them. The power of the sea can be felt on your face as you wander along. A must to be added to your 'to do' list. it's an easy walk with a couple of sloping hills that might prove troublesome for some. It is crushed stone and gravel. Beautiful experience.
