Heritage New Perlican, Hefford Plantation Artifacts
New Perlican
The Hefford Planation site is name after one of the first planters whose ancestors still reside here. Thousands of artifacts found during an archaeological dig on the site in 2001 include a clay tobacco pipe and earthenware from Dorset, dating back to the late 17th century. A collection of artifacts from the site are on display in New Perlican's Municipal Town Hall. The site itself can be visited in the Harbour. Walking tour maps available at town hall.
