Outport Trail - Terra Nova National Park
Hike the south side of Newman Sound to outer coastal locations of the park. Travel through the remnants of a pine forest, climb Mount Stamford, visit Minchin Cove - an old saw milling settlement. Camp at one of our designated primitive camping sites or arrange for a boat taxi with Coastal Connections, located at the Visitor Centre. Back country camping permits are available at the Visitor Centre and Newman Sound Kiosk. 32km return, takes roughly 11 hours to hike and is considered difficult.
