Parks

Our national and provincial parks preserve some of the province’s – and the country’s – most spectacular natural resources: fjords, lakes, mountains, rivers, beaches, forests, coastlines, marshes, and the creatures and plants that live there in all their diversity. Bald eagles, moose, polar bears, and environments like alpine meadows, sub-arctic tundra and river valleys are here for all to enjoy. Because parks are for people.

Camping, hiking, paddling, bird watching, swimming, relaxing, boating, cross country skiing and many other enjoyable activities take place in our parks. They are ideal places to slip away from urban life and roast marshmallows or gaze at the stars after a day of fun and adventure.

National Parks

Our three national parks – Gros Morne, Terra Nova, and Torngat Mountains – reflect the range of environments and cultures here. Gros Morne, a hiker’s paradise. Terra Nova, a boreal forest. Torngat Mountains, a wild sub-arctic.

Provincial Parks

There are 13 provincial parks to glimpse our splendid natural diversity. These provincial parks offer a balance between creature comforts and fresh air, wildlife and unspoiled landscapes. Take your pick: sand, sea and sky.
