Newfoundland and Labrador is a blend of two distinct parts: Newfoundland, an island in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, and Labrador, a land bordering the province of Quebec.
Located on the eastern edge of Canada, it is the closest province in Canada to Europe and the largest of the Atlantic provinces. Cape Spear, located a short drive from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador’s capital city, is officially the most easterly point in North America.
